...portrays a young quail on the lookout, hiding under sagebrush.
I love the contrast between the blues and turquoise and the
bright orange and starkness of the white snow.

Each winter, we throw out wheat for the Quail - I love watching them uncover it for a meal. So much fun, they'll scratch and throw snow out behind them, bury their head in the snow to get the grain...

Here I am getting started on "Sage Symphony" (below) Watch for the next Art Lovers Sunday coming this summer!
"Sage Symphony" ~ painted during Art Lovers Sunday at Pybus Public Market in Wenatchee. I love how this turned out with the warmth in the sagebrush contrasted by the cold of the snow ~ it was fun to meet all the challenges it offered throughout the day. This is 9x12" $240- unframed.

"Italian Stucco" My challenge with this piece
was to make Italian roofs, that are literally all the same color,
interesting. Thru experimenting I found that a certain blue and a
certain green did the trick. I liked the shapes created by sun
on the one side of the buildings, while the shade side has all the
beautiful nuances of color over color. Stepping away and then returning
after about an hour, I find that it is working beautifully. Pastel on
UArt 6"x11.5" offered at $175.00 unframed. First person to email firstname.lastname@example.org claims it and will be emailed an online invoice with tax and shipping added.
